Quintrex Renegade 460 Side Console + Yamaha F60 4-stroke water test/boat review

The Renegade range of boats from Quintrex includes many of Brisbane Yamaha’s top selling models. And for good reason too as there is a model to suit any purpose. The 460 side console has plenty of features that make it suitable for keen fishermen but also those of us who like to take their family out for a bit of fun on the water.

The package from Brisbane Yamaha has a 60hp four-stroke on the back which gives you plenty or power when loaded up with three or four people and gear. Our water tests show just over 4000rpm at 32km/h which is what you’d sit at for comfortable cruising in average conditions. The Renegade 460 hull is rated to a maximum of 75hp and a maximum of five people for those who regularly fish long range or plan to have additional passengers.

The underfloor fuel tank has a capacity of 75lt, which combined with the fuel economy of the four-stroke, gives you a huge range out on the water and no need to clutter the deck with additional fuel tank or worry about running out of fuel.

The layout of the side console is designed to free up the cockpit to move around. There are three seating positions to suit your preference with a Quintrex Angler Pro seat at the helm and two pedestal seats.

The rear of the cockpit has a raised casting platform with plenty of storage under. It is also easy access for the battery and isolation switch, pump for the live bait well and bilge pump. One storage compartment aft is designed for tackle or would ideally fit a 23lt fuel tank, while the other accommodates the live bait tank and an additional storage bin for your knives and pliers – keeping them safely tucked away but still accessible.

The 460 Renegade SC features full length side pockets for all sorts of gear and also four rod holders. The boat comes with a transom step and rail for ease of access on and off the boat, especially if you have kids or oldies on board, carpeted floor, aft short side rails and forward side rails. The side console is very compact and low enough to fish over and also features space underneath for esky storage, glovebox, drink holder and space to fit your electronic gear.

The Quintrex Renegade 460 SC has a raised casting deck at the front, with ample storage underneath, space for a battery and a built in anchor well.

The Renegade 420 SC has Quintrex’s famous blade hull and has 3mm bottom and side, making it an unbeatable boat for offshore fishermen. It comes as standard with an accessory kit and Quintrex alloy trailer.
